A MIRAGE OF HOME: Use Your Phone to See What Your Eyes Cannot in this Puzzle/Horror Game
A Mirage of Home is a short indie first-person horror puzzle game that was produced by Morritor Games and published on March 19th of this year, being made available on the itch.io platform. In the game, you wake up in a strange apartment with only a smartphone. As you walk into the living room, you find a table adorned with candles and a ritual symbol, and you notice that your device's selfie camera can show you things you can't see with the naked eye. It's up to you to unravel all the secrets surrounding this strange apartment.
Visually speaking, A Mirage of Home is very well done, with a style geared more towards realism. In addition, the setting and lighting were well set here, responsible for bringing a climate of horror and tension, where you can't predict what can happen here. But I think the gameplay is the strong point here: the smartphone is a very useful tool here, as it allows you to see things that the naked eye can't see, which gives you a new way to solve puzzles.
