BIOCIDE: KARVER ISLAND: A Survival Horror Game that Pays Homage to the Resident Evil Franchise
Biocide: Karver Island is a third-person indie action and survival horror game produced by TaintedPact Games and with a demo version published on August 5th of this year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". Biocide's story takes place on Karver Island, a location that was recently closed by Celledyne, a global leader in biogenetics and pharmaceuticals. You control a mercenary, who has been hired by a rival company to obtain secret information that is in a company facility, and you locate a scientist who has been selling research information and company secrets for high prices on the black market.
The first thing you notice about Biocide is the style of play: it's a standard survival horror, completely inspired by Capcom's franchise of the same genre, Resident Evil, more precisely in the latest games in the franchise, from zombies to biological weapons and secrets. of front-line pharmaceutical corporations. Even the protagonist resembles Hunk, from Resident Evil 2. The game developer's intention is clear: to pay homage to the genre's games, presenting the best in them. The graphic part is spectacular. From objects to landscapes, everything is well produced here. As for gameplay, it responds well to keyboard and mouse commands. You can run, dodge, aim, attack and interact with various objects, as well as puzzles you find and solve during the game.
At the moment, Biocide: Karver Island is under development and the full version is expected to be released in May 2022, on Steam. In the meantime, you can check the gameplay of the game on this link here and download the demo from the page below:
