COMMUTE: A Game which is a Love Letter from Gamedev to an Old Public Transit System
Commute is a short interactive fiction indie game that was produced by thisisstar and published on April 17th of this year on the itch.io platform. The game was produced for Public Transit Bitsy Jam and is a tribute on the part of gamedev to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which according to him, he used to use at some point in his life. Here he recounts in a nostalgic and passionate (and even poetic) way his experience with this institution after moving from his old city.
The game itself features pixel art that, despite not being so colorful (more like old PC games), impresses with the level of detail it presents. The gameplay is something similar to a visual novel, since the game is completely textual.
