DEVIL OF THE MIRROR REMAKE: A Dark Fairytale about a Lonely Girl and a Cursed Mirror

Devil of The Mirror: Remake is an indie puzzle adventure game that was produced by Tokiiro Kaeru (時彩 蛙) in 2021 and, with permission from Kaeru himself, was translated and published for the west by the Patchy Illusion Team on March 4th of this year, at itch.io platform. In the game, you control a little girl who has a disease that greatly limits her life. She spent her entire life alone indoors, having the library as her greatest leisure. One day, she finds a book of spells and, after receiving a strange mirror from a family, she uses a spell on it, wishing she had friends and a better life... however, what she didn't know is that a demonic entity was there, trapped in that mirror... What will be this girl's fate?

Devil of The Mirror: Remake is nothing more than an improved version of the original, featuring new graphic assets and sprites, two additional endings, a bit more extended story and international language support. The game is very beautiful visually, from the design of the backgrounds to the art of the characters, without a doubt a very well done job. The gameplay is very adventure-oriented and the puzzles present a reasonable level of challenge, but I believe the main focus here is on the story and narrative, which is massive in a playtime that can vary from 30 minutes to up to 3 hours.
