HALLUCINATION: Find Your Way Out of the House Before You Lose Your Sanity in This Horror Game
Hallucination is a first-person survival horror indie game produced by Mr.RedCoffee and published on August 29 this year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". Hallucination puts you inside an old house. Your mission is to find some items and a key to get you out of the house. The problem is that you're losing your sanity as time goes on and, to make matters worse, you're not alone: there's a strange creature that roams the interiors of the house. , which will help you lose your sanity and go into total madness if he catches you.
The game was created for a Game Jam called Supersensory Megamix '21, where exploring the five senses (as well as pushing them to the limit) is the main theme. The Game Jam was hosted by Strangest.io, a game dev known for making very surreal and psychedelic games. In terms of graphics, the game here has a very PSX-inspired aesthetic, which gives it an excellent retro feel. As for gameplay, there's not much to talk about here, it's just the same gameplay typical of other underground indie games of the genre. Your job here is simply to roam around the house, looking for items (which seem to be randomized on every turn) and use them in certain locations. In addition, you have the house's air ducts, which are the only places used for you to defend yourself from the strange creature.
If you take a long time, and your sanity is at the limit, a siren will sound to the end, indicating that you lost and that you should start over. Hallucination is simple and straightforward, without too much fuss. It's an interesting and very short game, which can be finished in a short time. Of course, to finish you'll have to lose several times until you actually know the location of the objects and hide from the creature when necessary.
