KONBINI: Fulfill Customer Orders During a Unknown War in this Simulation/Puzzle Game
Konbini (stylized as Konbini || コンビニ) is a third-person indie simulation game produced by nuzzle nose and published on September 1st this year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". The game does not have a defined plot: what we have here is just information that is found during the game, both from Gaido Mashin (romaji for Guide Machine) and from customers who order the products. What we can understand from this is that you control a little robot from a convenience store that fills orders from people who are surviving some kind of war (against who or what, we don't know).
Konbini was produced for the Summer of Shivers, a Game Jam hosted by the independent retro community Haunted PS1. Visually speaking, the game has an aesthetic inspired by PS1 games, but slightly improved. In terms of gameplay, it is varied: there are times when you go to the third person, controlling the little robot towards the product machines, and in those moments the gameplay changes to something close to games like Warioware, for example. Let me explain: the machines operate in the form of minigames, which are four in total. The challenge level ranges from the simplest to the most skillful.
There's not much to talk about Konbini here. It is very short and can be completed in almost an hour. It's more like a hobby to check out when you're bored.
