THEY GREW LUNGS AND DROWNED: Explore the Ruins of a Surreal World Filled with Odd Inhabitants

They Grew Lungs and Drowned is an indie first-person psychological horror adventure game being produced by Supposedly Spooky and which had its demo published on May 6th of this year, on the itch.io platform. In the game, you find yourself in a strange and surreal world. Your objective here is to explore the ruins of this world, interact with the survivors who live there, and learn about the shortage of permanent food supplies that plagues the place.

Without a doubt, it can be said that They Grew Lungs and Drowned is, by far, one of the most bizarre and nonsense games we've ever played here on the channel. Of course, we played very strange things like TENUOUS:City, produced by Modus Interactive and the very famous Fatum Betula, created by Bryce Bucher, where you explore a completely surreal environment, without a linear and coherent plot, but we've never seen something as absurd as the case of this game here. In terms of graphics, like the others mentioned above, the game features a low poly serrated look with low resolution textures, inspired by the aesthetics of PSX games. The gameplay is simple and has a simulation behavior, where you just explore the place and interact with its inhabitants, who will give you information about the world you are in.
