UNDER THE STAIRS: A Policeman Investigates a House Whose Owner hasn't been Seen for Days

The Copperport Casefiles: Under The Stairs is a short-lived indie adventure, puzzle and survival third-person survival game with horror elements that was produced by ProfessorStitch and published on October 31st, 2020, on the itch.io platform. In the game, you control Henry Crane, a Constable who, after receiving a call from the Copperport Police Department, decides to investigate a house where an anthropologist lives. According to the citizen who made the call, this anthropologist was his neighbor, and after a few days of living together, he noticed that his neighbor had never been seen by anyone since.

The game is the first entry in what Stitch calls the Copperport Universe, a series of stories created and told by Stitch himself and Dave Marshall that feature a look and feel that is very reminiscent of 1930s and 1940s black and white horror films. The graphics are very well done, especially considering that this is Stitch's first work. The gameplay is pretty cool and doesn't require a lot of work to learn. Furthermore, the challenge here is exploration only: you explore an entire map (the anthropologist's house) in search of items that can be used to open up other locations in the house.

Just like we covered the third game in the series, Under the Stairs maintains the same classic horror style and good gameplay that can keep you stuck for several minutes, as well as an intriguing story.
