VALL: An Action Game Where You Must Save What Left of Humanity from a Threatening Missile Attack
VALL is a third-person shooter, action-adventure indie game produced by ReveVoodoo and published on August 20 of that year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". In VALL, you control the protagonist of the same name and of the Necrocage saga who, after 1330 years after the events of the second game in the saga, wakes up and discovers that the world he knew has apparently become a huge desert. No sooner have you woken up and discovered that more than 300 missiles are prepared to be fired towards what is left of humanity, erasing it from history. Your mission is to find the power tower responsible for controlling the missiles and deactivate them.
ReveVoodoo, without a shadow of a doubt, has great ideas and interesting stories, and it's no different here. VALL has a great story despite being simple, which concludes the story of the character that had been built in previous games. In terms of gameplay, the game is quite typical of third-person action games. The graphics part is well done: it presents an evolution that gives a polish to 32-bit textures, both giving that air of current and respecting the old, and this is a very peculiar style on the part of Reve. The soundtrack consists of a small range of retrowave or cyberpunk music, which combines well with the futuristic, post-apocalyptic and chaotic atmosphere provided by the desert world where the protagonist finds herself.
If I have to present a negative point, it would be the use of Adrenaline skill, im my humble opinion. Unfortunately it's a completely expendable skill, especially for those who've played several games of the same style presented here, other than that, the game is spectacular, although short. VALL is the culmination of a story that has been developing since 2020 and although the story of our purple-haired badass protagonist is over, it's not yet the end of the Necrocage universe, as Reve warned that a new chapter in the saga is underway, along with a sequel to OldBerserker, which is part of the same universe.
